Health-related data is classified as sensitive informationunder Article 23 of Korea's PIPA. It is processed only with your separate, explicit consent and is subject to enhanced security controls.
We process your data on the following legal bases under Korea's PIPA:
Separate, Explicit Consent
For health data and AI-assisted recommendations, as required for sensitive information under PIPA Article 23. Obtained via the consent checkbox at the point of booking or first use of the AI assistant. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Performance of a Contract
To facilitate your appointment booking and deliver platform services you have requested.
Legitimate Interests
For platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement, where these interests do not override your fundamental rights.
Legal Obligation
Where required by Korean law, including lawful requests from the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) or other competent authorities.
To withdraw consent, email data@hayyamed.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Payment processing. Card data is handled exclusively by our payment processor under PCI-DSS compliance — not stored on our servers.
Google LLC (Cloud Run)
Based in Korea (asia-northeast3 / Seoul region)
Web application hosting on Google Cloud Run, located in the Korea cloud region. Application data remains within the Korea region.
Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United Statesby the sub-processors listed in Section 5, as cloud infrastructure is global in nature. Cross-border transfer of personal information is conducted in accordance with PIPA's requirements for overseas transfer of personal data.
We ensure appropriate contractual safeguards are in place with each processor — including data processing agreements — requiring them to protect your data to a standard consistent with Korea's PIPA.

We retain your data only as long as necessary:
Booking and appointment records
3 years from the date of the last appointment
Payment transaction records
5 years, as required under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce
AI chat logs
90 days, then anonymised or deleted
Inactive account data
Deleted after 1 year of inactivity, with advance notice, per Korea's data retention limitation requirements
Technical and analytical logs
12 months
After the retention period, data is securely deleted or permanently anonymised.
Under Korea's PIPA you have the following rights:

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Right of Erasure
Request deletion of your data where there is no lawful basis for continued processing.
Right to Suspend Processing
Ask us to suspend processing of your data in certain circumstances.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Withdraw consent for health data processing at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
File a complaint with Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC), which administers and enforces PIPA nationwide.
Submit requests to data@hayyamed.com. We will respond within 10 days as required under PIPA.
We implement the following technical and organisational security measures:
In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify you and, where required by law, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) without undue delay.
Our platform is intended for individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe your child's data has been submitted without your consent, contact data@hayyamed.com and we will delete it promptly.
For paediatric bookings, data must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian who provides explicit consent on behalf of the minor, consistent with PIPA's requirements for processing children's data.
When we make material changes to this policy, we will:
Continued use of the platform after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
